Reunion One: Sat, 31st Jan.
2.5 years is all it takes for BMTC 06 P Coy Platoon 3 Sect 2 to have a reunion again. And it a happy family again!
Me, together with my buddy Bryan, and a load of the goodfellas - Felix, Linus, Kenny, Lewis, Nick + Special apperance of 3SG (NS) Chu Bin, we had a steamboat buffet at Tanglin Shopping Centre.
After going into our own directions from BMT, each of us lead a separate life, and occassionally making contacts with each other. Thanks to Bryan and Felix, it is pretty impossible for us to meet up again, to see how each other is doing after going separate ways for years.
So from 7pm to late, it was a non-stop eat, drink, joke, eat, drink, wonder session. And I must say, everyone is more matured now.
Which I believed, as time goes by, we will bond together.
The reunion is something that I could not describe in words. Only experiencing it by yourself, you can feel the joy in it.
Reunion Two: 1st Feb, Sun.
The reunion is not more me, more rather, Michael Berg and Hanna Schmitz. They are the pair of lover, who had a reunion 30 years after they had a summer first love.
I am referring to The Reader, the novel adaptation into a movie which receives 5 Oscars nomination. Kate Winslet, David Cross and Ralph Fiennes delivers a excellent performance under the guidance of Stephen Daldry (The Hours), together with the late Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella as the producer.
As the title suggests, The Reader. Young Michael Berg was saved by Hanna during a heavy rain, and a thank you greetings ends up in a physical intimacy, followed by the exploration of D.H Lawrence, Homer, Anton Chekhov and Ernest Hemingway on the bed. When Hanna's 8 years absence from Michael's life ends up with the biggest shock he could ever faced, what will Michael do? And how will Hanna faces the truth?
