This City Never Sleeps
Thursday, March 31, 2005 @ Is there something i should know?
A bad news to me this am from the Straits Times: From Labours Day onwards, movie tickets sold under Shaw, GV and Eng Wah will increase.

The increase will be adjusted to the following new prices: $6.50 to $7, $7.50 to $8 and $8.50 has skyrocketed to $9.50!!!!! I may be exaggerating, but i am no bullshitting here. I simply do not see the point of paying that f******* $9.50 for a weekend show, if the standard of service is still that horrible, and cinemas do not do anything to improve the service. To those anti-GV's, you et what i mean...

The only good news is that Cathay and Overseas are not affected by this change, which means you can still pay $8.50 for a weekend show at Cineleisure Orchard, and $7 for a wkend show at Princess.

Looks like i have to go and get myself movie vouchers at 10 for $75 now, cos i am not willing to pay $9.50 for a wkend tix.

@ Just can't turn back those years
Ok, so today is the last day of March, which also means today is the last day of my concession pass. From tomorrow onwards, i have to use cash for my bus ride.

Been spending the past hours on gym, workouts, maximise my value of the concession pass by going around the whole S'pore. Just yesterday, went to Harbour Front Mall for the first time, after WTC has gone a major renovation. Nothing really much exciting to see, except for the sea over there?

Went to Chinatown later and wanted to buy Kylie: The best of 87-97, but as they are running out of stock, i bought Phil Collins: Love Songs - A Compliation old and new... and i realised that i should have bought Annie Lennox's Bare instead. Phil's song's always gives his listeners a sense of melancholy, and somehow after listening to his songs, i just couldn't lighten up my mood. It makes me feel very low instead.

2 more days to birthday and somehow my birthday dinner doesn't seems to go smoothly. Jer and his gf couldnt make it due to some family events, Shyam is having a chicken pox rite now, need to go down to the bakery to change the cake cos the baker called and informed me that the cake that i ordered has been phased out....what a way to celebrate my 20th bdae...

can things get more better or more worst?

Saturday, March 26, 2005 @ End of the nightmare?
The final paper comes to an end today. RHRA is down, just like Bill in the Bride's deathlist. However, i don't think that's the end of the nightmare.

The clas has to come out with an event for next semester's event management, and we have to work in 3 groups again, where each group secures at least 2 companies, and select the one that suits the best in the end. There's where Stephanie makes a suggestion: she requested to work in our usual HR group, instead of Corp Comm group. Well, Idah, our class chairperson told us that there would not be a problem, but Mdm Meenachi prefers us to work in Corp Comm group. After short discussion, we will now be working in our HR group. Yippee!!!!

Now, everything is finally over, and we can take a very long break. Met Jeremy and his gf at Metro's warehouse sale, together with Jer's mum and Joyce, Jer's sis. Well i just returned from Bods.Bodynits warehouse sales and fancy this sleeveless tee, where i would wear it for my gym and joggin session. However, i decided to take a look at Metro, and there's where Jer try out his Renoma tees, and i go for Skinxwear sleeveless tee. The result: i look like Kevin Spacey in American Beauty. Mabey i should stick to Bods?

Will be leaving S'pore on my bdae nite, and felt terribly sorry for Lawrence, cos i can't bring him out for clubbing at Mohd Sultan on my bdae nite, while i asked him earlier on. However, i will try my very best to get the Nike wristband he has ben eyeing for. So, i went to Golden Mile compplext to get my tickets, and before that, met Lawrence jogging in the rain at the park. Accompany him and talked to him abt it. After that, i asked him should i go for Color Blossoms at Golden? His answer: Yes, since i will be going there to get my coach tickets.

However, i did not go for the show, cos the posters itself looks pretty turn off. Take a look at Teresa Cheung and Harisu, the Korean transsexual porn actress. OMG, it is sickening. Old, bitchy, masculine look. Bought the tickets and i am leaving on Sat nite itself. Well, cos if i do not return, i just do not know when's the next time i can go shopping at Ipoh, since my schedule has been fully packed.

So, it might just be a simple dinner, but comes with a full programme before that. Highlights of the programme? For you to find out.

Tuesday, March 22, 2005 @ un senso . non ti muovere
2 papers down yesterday, and 2 more paper to go. the paper that i am sick n tired of it - CJP, will be down tomorrow (and feel pretty jealous that Jeremy is free from all papers from tom onwards, while i have another paper to go on sat.) and RHRA on bro's bdae.

After waiting for months, the dvd of Don't Move or Non Ti Muovere in Italian is finally on sale. Somehow, my answer has been answered, cos just few days ago, i was surfing www.imdb.com and posted a question: when will the dvd of Don't Move be released on the market? 2 days later, it was printed on 8 Days, stating that the dvd is now on sale. But remember, only DVD available, no VCD available for Non Ti Muovere.

And finally (another finally again) i found the theme song of Non Ti Muovere. Entitled Un Senso (or A Sense in Italian), it was performed by the veteran Italian singer Vasco Rossi. Sad to say, it comes in the form of a video only. So, you have to check it out at www.vascorossi.net to enjoy it.

Somehow, this year's Singapore International Film Festival doesn't seems to fit my tastebud. This year, the organisers has chosen Japanese animation as the opening and closing film, instead of dull and dry Korean soap drama for the opening film and Taiwanese film directed by the Sarawak born, Taiwan raised director Tsai Ming Liang. Not too sure of the opening film, but Ghost in the Shell 2 has been chosen as the closing film. This year, some of the very very old films will be having their so called 'premier' in SIFF. This includes Taiwanese retrospective director Hou Hsiao Hsien's collection, where some of the films has gone for direct release on home video, such as Flowers of Shanghai(1998) by Tony Leung, Carina Lau and some Japanese cast. Ohter 'highlights' includes Millenium Mambo (2001)by Shu Qi, which as been re-rated to M18, Dust in the Wind or Lian Lian Feng Cheng(1986), where you can purchase the vcd at LaserFlair, The City of Sadness or Bei Qing Cheng Shi (1987), which brought the Japanese musicial group S.E.N.S onto international spotlight.

OK, enough of it. Oh yeah, to the fans of Moby, do you know that Moby has released his latest album, entited Hotel? And now, you can go to www.moby.com to register as a guest in their very own and unique Moby Hotel! need to check in the room now...describe to you the room later...

Sunday, March 20, 2005 @ Cos time destroys everything
And that is the tagline for Irreversible. Yes, watched the French rape drama with Lawrence at Yangtze tonite.

Some research was done before watching Irreversible, so i told him try not to eat before show, cos you will feel nausea, giddy and headache if you are watching Irreversible. And seriously, the effected created does not really work in the 4 screen grindhouse cineplex. Why?

1st of all, the director Gasper Noe arranged the film to screen backwards, which means you will see the end credits rolling backwards 1st. As when you are seeing the credits, the credits will go waywards, which means it will go towards the left, and slowly, it will turn and turn and turn and turn and turn...yes, everything will go round and round and round......in fact, the whole movie has been going round and round and round...
2ndly, the sound has been set to the frequency of 28 Hz for the background noise for the first 30mins, which is the noise produced in an earthquake. The sound could not be heard, so one would feel nausea, vertigo and sickness, which is why this is specially created for the film. In fact, i am feeling kinda giddy rite now.

But this applys only if Dolby 5.1 or DTS has been used. I am not too sure whether it has been used, cos it sounds like stereo to me. Anyway, the end credits was hard to explain, so you have to experience it yourself.

Opens with 2 men talking to one another, the older naked man said to his friend: Time destroys everything. The next scene, Marcus and Pierre, a bf and a friend of their gf/bestfriend Alex (Monica Bellucci) was arrested by the police. The next scene, Marcus and Pierre marched towards Rectum, an gay SM club to look for La Tenia, and it was loads of fucking and screwing among the gays, and the next thing we know, Marcus took a fire extinguisher and smashed La Tenia's head several times. We go further down and we will know why what leads to the murder and revenge:

Alex was on her way home, and she walked on an underpass. La Tenia was beating up a hooker and Alex saw the whole beating. She trys to run but La Tenia catches her and you should know by now what happens: Alex was anally raped by La Tenia, and her face was kicked and smashed on the ground.

We go further down and it was about how Alex, Marcus and Pierre talk to each other about sex, and at the end of the film (which is the opening), Alex have sex with Marcus, and she was pregnant. She imagines herself having a chld, and she was reading a book under an sunny garden, with children running around. It turns and turns and turns and the screen goes blank. It shows on the screen: Time Destroys Everything.

The moment the screen goes blank, the projector goes blank, and the music continues to play. The audience left and Lawrence asked me about the film. Well, it was a film that was worth discussing. 1st of all, i've never watched a film that runs backwards. Worst of all, it is a French film. So when the end credits was shown, Lawrence asked me what's that? and all i can tell him was that was the end credits, cos the words and letters have been placed in opposite directions. As for why the film is runing backwards, i can only tell you that this is a special way a movie is presented, where the story is told backards. You know the ending 1st, and towards the end, you know the start at the end of the film.

If i'm not wrong, Gasper Noe wants to tell his audience the message that time destroys everything, by using the film to run backwards. Anyway, for ya info, the movie contains strong violence, sexual content and vulgarities. If you want to know the mystery behind Noe's direction of the thriller, be prepared that you are going to see something that is full of blood, gore, nude and gay sex. If you are the sort who do not wish to hear fuck, shit, faggot and whatsoever, or you don't even want to se a woman getting raped, then please step out of the red tunnel and Rectum.

Anyway, Lawrence and i really enjoyed this 95min psycho drama. It was a Japanese meal at Cineleisure Orchard after the gross red feast of 9min fuck. We don't feel sick, but we feel hungry. Oh man, gross does not really exist in our dictionary after the psycho drama.

Friday, March 18, 2005 @ Thomas Ong and Monica Bellucci
Just like any other normal day, went to school to look for Mr Nah to help me solve some problems, but he was not there. Ebo. So went to the library and school lab to find out the answers myself.

And was wondering what VCD should i get for myself for the usual late nite screening: Martial Arts of Shaolin by Jet Li or Manhattan by Woody Allen. So i head straight down to Chinatown, but before that, i took 23 to Sim Lim, and it was another surprise in Arts Brother video store.

Another film from Audrey Tautou has been released under M18: L'auberge Espagnole! AKA The Spanish Apartment, that was the mulit european language comedy which has now been released under M18 from the previous RA. Talking about RA, yes, i went to Yangtze again. And this is related to my headline plus Jet Li plus Bridgette Lin Qing Xia and Sylvia Zhang. No, they are not acting in any porn, except Monica Bellucci. Irreversible had a re-run in Yangtze, and when i asked Lawrence should i go for the 1.30pm show, he said he wants to watch! Oh, he couldn't get enough from the run in Golden. OK, so we are going for the 7.30pm show tom nite. Anyway, the aunties and ah-peks do not even bother to check ID. If Golden is the case, i believe this applys in Yangtze too? OK, finally i can have the thrill ride of my life. Hehe...(evil smile)

If Yangtze do not even bother to check ID, this tells me one thing: I MISSED ALMODOVAR'S LA MALA EDUCACION in Yangtze! Instinct tells me that that would be true soon...

Sad to say, Visma enterprise do not have Jet Li's Martial or Bridgette+Sylvia's Dreams of the Red Chamber on VCD, so walked straight to People's Park Centre. Then, i realised that ex-Mediacorp actor Thomas Ong or Wang Tian Cai owns a gift shop in Lucky Chinatown. So went to the shop and the moment i saw the shop...

Ooh La La, Cindy Lim Shiyi, if you happen to read this, you will be very pleased. Mabey this can help you, and me at the same time. The shop is selling mounted movie posters on wooden board and Cindy, the things you want: Miffy!

Known as Link Station, this is the souvenior and accessories shop, where you can buy some movie merchandise and fashion accessories. Was attracted to the various posters mounted on the board. As i bend down for more, the former actor bent down and pick up some stuff and said to me: 'There are more down here. ' Some of the posters available includes: LOTR, Harry Potter and Matrix Trilogy. That's for sure. Not forgetting films from Tom Cruise such as the real letdown Jerry Maguire and my all time fav Minority Report. QT's Pulp Fiction and Michael Douglas's Basic Instinct are some of the posters available.

However, Amelie and Kill Bill is missing, so i asked: Is Amelie and Kill Bill available? The reply was: Amelie will only be available as special item, so i can place my reservation. Kill Bill? Coming soon. The posters are made in China and from what i known, Thomas makes several trips to countries such as HK and China to get the stuff. The price is not cheap too: $18 for 1, but compared to the Japanese chirashi sold at Esplanade, still worth buying it. After all, chirashi is just only a piece of paper.

Thomas and his bbusiness partner was chatting in the shop, and his biz partner tells me to sit down after Thomas pass me the catalogue. As Thomas was unpacking some items, i saw Miffy merchandise. I exclaimed (just wonder i get over excited or what, and it surprises him): Oh Miffy! He replied: You collet this? Nah, i don't. Cindy does. And telling them what i want, Thomas asked: you are not a local, don't you?

I'm an Englishman in New York - Sting. I think, i had answered this several times till sianz. Never mind, those who do not know are not to be blamed. And a conversation goes on and on and on...

After looking for several stuff, i say au revoir to them. I will make a trip back there again, cos i can get some nice present for my friends, and for myself.

Mabey tomorrow nite i will be there to take a peek of Thomas, before seeing Monica gets screwed up?

Thursday, March 17, 2005 @ Riding a roller coaster on the sea using a sampan.
Ups and downs for today.

The horoscope says: Your communication skills will be runing on high - so much that no matter who you're chatting with, they'll be amazed and delighted to hear what you have to say. That goes for friends, foes and strangers alike. Work it, baby.

And yes, i display my communication skills to the wrong people. But i will release bit by bit, cos i tell u, my life is just like a roller coaster - running (rolling should be the word) up and down today.

Went to school to print some of the HR notes, and in the end, had to ask Mr Nah to let me photocopy my group's peer teaching notes, cos i had the feeling that the notes fly away without saying au revoir to me. And that ends at 12noon. While walking down the stairs, had the urge to visit the gents. So, went to Level 4 gents and before i enter, i hear scrubbling. I thot: well, mabey some cleaners just scrub the floor.

This is what i saw: a male cleaner was scrubbing the washing sink, with his pants and blue briefs down to his thigh. His butt was facing towards me and his cock was facing the tap, scrubbing the sink away. Yes, this guy was washing the toilet 1/2 naked.

I closed the door immediately and walked to the handicapped toilets to...u know lah. But i locked myself in the toilet for a short while, thinking of what the heck has happened.

So i walked towards the lift immediately, and the idiotic lift came down very slowly. The cleaner, whom i believed has finished his whatsoever shit in the gents, walked towards me. (I was the only guy around that area apart from him during that time, cos it was a study break rite now, and classrooms were closed, no classes going on.) But actually, he walk into the meeting room besides the lift. And that's the end of the scare.

Mabey this is not a scare, but more rather, someone who is an exhibitionist, which means he/she like to expose him/herself in an public area, but in a quiet corner. They might just get themselves sexually stimulated in that area. In a nutshell, we have a exhibitionist/psycho/freak in school rite now, who enjoy displaying their body to the public, and this is common among the homosexuals and flashers who wants to see the surprise look of their opposite sex victim. In the 1st place i thot: this would only happen in isolated places such as desreted houses, back alley and parks at late nite, but now, it has invaded TP.

And i was wondering what the heck did he go naked in toilet? And why was he walking towards me? OK, i assume that he was wanking off there, using semens to scrub the basin? A bit sickening. And he went to the meeting room to...whether he is going to jerk himself off the 2nd round or to clean or whatsoever, it's none of my business.

The end of the 'extraordinary erotic tale.' Head straight down to Borders and sad to say, the VCD of Before Sunirse has sold out, but the dvd is still avilable at $19.90 + 20% off. Though it is cheap, but nah, only a trailer is included for the bonus feature. Not really worth it. And now, Dangerous Liaisons the original uncut, uncensored version is now on sale, in both code 1 and 3 format. And i display my comm skills talent to the staff at Borders that there are 2 ratings for the vcd of Sunrise on the market, and i want to know what's the version they are selling. They claime that they selling the NC16 version for the vcd. Ebo.

HMV? Asked the staff whether Code 3 is on sale, and their reply was they only have one last copy of Code 1 left. Tell them that the code 3 is now on the market and whether they are carrying the code 3 version, and their reply: we do not even heard of code 3 format for Dangerous Liaisons yet.

What a letdown, in terms of their bo-chap attitude. High anticipation becomes a high disappointment, so looks like i can only get my sunrise/sunset some other time. Anyway, i am not going for their DVD.

And it seems that i am unable to get to sleep after my revision, so i had a midnight show last nite: The Return.

Jeremy once asked: Dave, had u watched The Return yet? Cos i told him that i wanted to watch this Russian 3 hankie weepie badly. And Jeremy, my answer to you is: Yes. I watched it a week after your birthday. And i told him prepare tissue paper/hankie cos this is a very sad show, and in the end, it ends with more than a sad show.

A brief intro of the film: Andrei, 15, and his younger brother Ivan, 12, lived with his mum and granny for the past 12 years in a fatherless life. Their father return after missing for 12 years. Dad brings the 2 kids for a outing camping. Andrei was exicited and anticipated to this trip, cos he can patch up with dad. Ivan is the opposite. He hate his dad for the 12 years absence and wants a immediate acceptance among the family. The trip is a journey to patch things up, and to know each other better. Andrei agrees with everything while Ivan goes against his dad.

I can't describe the feeling of the hankie weepie, cos you gotta watch it yourself. But i can share the ending ith you now: Their father never return home. A conflict b/w the 3 broke out while they are having a camp in an island, Ivan threatens to kill dad if dad is going to kill Andrei. Ivan runs away and dad chase after Ivan, while Andrei chase after both. Ivan climbs to a wooden lighthouse and locks the entrance/exit from the ladder. Dad climbs up to save Ivan and while he was holding the wooden plank, the plank breaks and he fell to his death. After carrying everything into their small wooden sampan (yes, they are using sampan to cross the sea), they cupload their bags to the car and in the end, their dad's body was carried away by the sea.....and it sunk into the sea forever....

That was the end of the Russian weepie drama. In fact, Vladimir Garin, who plays Andrei, died in an drowning accident shortly after the filming comes to an end. Sob sob...

Tuesday, March 15, 2005 @ Annie Lennox
Was feeling tired after having ice creams at Swnsens PS with Shyam, so talk a bit about Annie Lennox.

Just in case you do not know who is Annie Lennox, mabey this can help u: she performs the theme song of LOTR: Return of the King, entitled Into the West. And u may wonder: who is Annie Lennox? You did not go straight to the point man.

You want straight to the point? OK, i give it to you right now. Bron in Scotland, Annie was the singer of the former 80's pop duo Eurythmics. When Eurythmics's last album We Too Are One becomes a failure, and Lennox becomes pregnant, both incidents (should i say incidents? her pregnency, mabey. Failure of the album? Don't think so.) makrs the end of the pop duo. Lennox goes for a solo career in 1992, with her 1st album Diva becomes a success. 1994 is the year where Lennox releases Medusa, with the song 'No More I Love You' becoming a hit in the mid 90's. And from there, she makes her fan wait for 9 years, where she released her 3rd album, Bare in 2003.

Just yesterday am, went to $$$ converters to buy her single, Little Bird. (One of the song in Diva) and now i am looking for Diva and Bare. On Sun, was in their outlet in Toa Payoh and saw the album of Diva, and was hesitant on buying it. In the end, it just stands on the shelf. Medusa is optional, cos i can borrow it from school anytime.

Now back to yesterday. Returns home pretty late cos i brought Shyam to Far East to brainwash him. Just somekind of...what should i say? Don't want to make him a dull person who knows nothing/little about latest fashion, and makes him unable to find himself a gf in the end. Oh yeah, Borders is having a 20% discount for students and teachers on normal price items. Looks like i can get my Before Sunrise tomorrow.

Saturday, March 12, 2005 @ Social Butterfly
This is the nickname my KS supervisor James given to me. Why social butterfly?

This is the scenario: took the cert and was ahving refreshments, and then met Mrs See, my yr 2 sem 1 HR tutor. I say hi to her and James said, 'you are just like a social butterfly.'

Ok, i wonder if i should laugh or cry or complain. Social butterfly.

Social butterfly...sounds like PRO, and i do not mean public relations officer in any firms or so on. I am referring to niteclub hostness or wu xiao jie in mandarin. Social butterfly can be linked to this= jiao ji hua aka social flower aka high class PRO.

Introducing PRO: A tagalog porn that will be re-screen over and over again exclusively at Yangtze cineplex. Story of3 PRO's working in nite club looking for sex. The story is that simple, and now i am associated with some thing like niteclub hostness...

Went to IT Fair at Suntec COnvenction Hall yesterday, and not surprisingly, it draw a BIG BIG crowd to the fair. Over there, Creative technology sets up a big booth selling their latest Creative Zen. Tried their MP3's and really hated myself why do i have no $$$ at this time? If not, i would have bring home an MP3 then. Sob sob sob.... Well, their MP3 was not bad, but there are some that is run by battries, which i do not really like. I prefer those that was chargable, and of course, able to store loads of songs. So, i must get min a 512MB , or better still, a Zen mini that stores 4, 5 or 6 GB.

But where the heck is Apple? I want to try out iPod, man.

Thursday, March 10, 2005 @ Au revoir francais!
Finally, FRENCH IS OVER! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! French finally comes to an end after my speaking test and cultural quiz, and Ms Vivian passed me...merci Ms Vivian. But i can tell u, i was SO GODDAMN NERVOUS, that i can become the actor if Almodovar wants to come out with Woman on the Verge of Nervous Breakdown Pt 2: For Men Only.

Yes, and i am seeing James with Mr Nah to get my KS cert tom! Ole ole it's such a joyous occassion!

Now, i have a $1million dollar qn for myself : how do i secure an company for SIP, and where should i go? When should i go?

Now playing: What Happens Tomorrow by Duran Duran

Tuesday, March 08, 2005 @ Au revoir Kelly Services
This is the 12th week of school, and the 12th week in a semester in TP means: Goodbye, zai jian, au revoir, adios to everything.

1st of all, it's sayonara to Kelly Services. In the 1st place, i am not really looking forward to go for attachment with KS. But somehow, after spending sometime in there, i just feel that thing's not really as bad as i think. It's relevant to HR, and i must admit that it is enjoyable to work with Mei Shuan when we are screening candidates who came for the interview, and we evaluate them. Ah, not forgetting James, the very nice supervisor who guide me along the way. If not for him, i wouldn't get much guidance and free gifts from him! Hehehehehehehehehehehehe.........

But everything must come to an end.

Today's attachment lasted for only 2 1/2hrs, and we are dismissed at 11.30am. This is just like we are being retrenched and we are asked to packed our stuff and go. You get what i mean?
What do we do today? Call candidates who were rejected by the clients, evaluation on our performance and au revoir. Return back on fri 5pm to eat, drink, collect our cert and be merry.
Working at KS is a great experience, where i learnt how to screen candidates, answering calls and more....in fact, this is also a chance where i know i have low self esteem. This is a good chance for me to brush up my self-confidence. Anymore? I don't think the story would be going on and on and on, cos i am working for only 12wks x 4hrs = 48hrs. Oops, it should be 48hrs-4hrs(i did not turn up last week) - 1.5hrs = 42.5hrs. 42.5hrs of Kelly Services does not give me much. I want more, more, more.....

Stop it. Face the fact. The sweet dream is over.

Let's now face the nightmare:French.

Never would i expect that learning French is a nightmare. My tutor says other subject is stressful, so let's de-stress at French. But no and very sorry. French is more stressful than any other subjects. We are expected to perform well and pass our speaking test. No plagirism for projects and so on, if not, we would be reported to the IGS dept and be sacked by the school.

Merci, IGS. My life is now very stressful, thanks to the demands for French. Do u know the reason why i did not go for Kelly last Tues? It was due to meet up your requirements for French projects, and i have to struggle till wee hours. In the end, i have a bad headache and eye pain when i woke up on tue am.

Now all i wished for is to say au revoir on Thurs after 4pm, and i can just throw French aside. I will pick up again when i need to meet a Frenchman/woman or any other thing gotta do with French.

Oh yeah, my grades for CJP is steady, and Ms Tirzah say that i am very sweet, cos i wish her Happy Woman's Day. Yes, today is International Woman's Day. Ladies, have a Happy Woman's Day, and Jeremy, Happy Birthday. :0)

Today is also the last time i am having R.Slessor's CS2. Goodbye Mr Slessor.

Sunday, March 06, 2005 @ Hello friend...bonne anniversaire
A saturday that was slightly out of the routine: i attended Jess Lin's bdae party at NTUC Downtown east. Went to the party with Zhisheng aka Lawrence, my BNSS best friend.

It's been ages since we last met and of course, we have lotsa to talk about. When was the last time we had a good chat? Mar 03, i think. He's now serving his nation, and unfortunately, he has to rush back his camp after the party, cos he was suay enough to be the guard for his camp tomorrow.

Met Jess at the chalet and all she tell us was to eat and eat and eat. Of course, we eat, and we eat, and we eat. Shortly after we had our meal, Maizatul came. Oh! The beautiful Maizatul. It's been ages since we met. Sad to say, Roslan wasn't here yet. He will be coming in later.

And after cutting the cake and so on, it was again...snapping time. Pics taking, i am referring. Is this week a photo taking week? We snapped and snapped and snapped....

As if that's not enough, we snapped each other using our mobile on the train, before Lawrence leaves for his duty.

The people i am supposed to meet today: Lawrence, Jess Lin, Maizatul, Guo Jiu, Zixian, Roslan.
The people i met today: Lawrence, Jess Lin, Maizatul and lotsa strangers i never met before.

Hello stranger...
Bonne anniversaire Jess Lin
Bonne Nuit Lawrence

Friday, March 04, 2005 @ Between photographs and Damien Rice
Can blog finally...after the few day's battle of Corp Comm project.

This am is our big day, where i have to don a suit with a red tie, and glad to hear from Sue that my red tie looks nice. Because everyone is presented in their best outfit, so the ladies and gentlemen from the HR/Corp Comm elective spend about 25min taking photographs. Yes, 25mins of snapping here and there in Comm hub. Shortly after our class presentation, Corp Comm hub is our playground. We snapped here and there. Currently only uploaded 1 onto friendster. More coming up soon.

As if i have to snap pics for the gals is not enough, i am seeing Julia Roberts snapping pics for Jude Law and Natalie Portman in tears this afternoon. Catched Closer this pm at Suntec, and just wonder: when was the last time i stepped into Eng Wah's theatre? Had the membership card but did not catch movies from them often, thus i do not earned much points from them. Sigh...why do i say Julia Roberts is snapping pics? She plays a photographer who take pics for Jude Law, a newspaper reporter cum an author for his upcoming new book. Why did Portman cry? She overhears the conversation b/w Roberts and Law, and suspects that Roberts is snatching Law. When Law plays a prank on Clive Owen, a doctor seeking for sex partners online, he patches up Owen and Roberts online. The prank results in both falling in love. Eventually, the relationships between the 4 not only ends up in a mess, but also to an end where one would not only have to bear the nasty consequences, but also a relationship where it scars all of them deeply.

What does it got to do with Damine Rice, the indie pop singer? Damien's song, The Blower's Daughter, is the theme song for Closer. Here comes the $1000 question: Who is Damien Rice?

No, nothing got to do with the staple food the Asian eats. It's not nasi padang, not yangzhou fried rice or sushi. Neither was Rice born in Dick Lee's Fried Rice Paradise. Damien Rice is a Irish born singer who creats intense melodic music underpinned by emotionally acute lyrics. Can't talk much about him cos i just know him about...less than 48hrs ago. Ah ha, he was the bf of Renee Zelleweger!

Thanks to Closer, Singaporeans would only be exposed to Damien Rice. If not, only a handful of Singaporeans would know who is Damien Rice. This is an extract of Rice's The Blower's Daughter, the theme song of Closer:

and so it is
just like you say that it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

And so it is
Just like you said it should be
We'll both forget the breeze
Most of the time
And so it is
The colder water
The blower's daughter
The pupil in denial

I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?

I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind...
My mind...my mind...

'il I find somebody new

Somewhere around the corner in the city lies a man with some past...
