This City Never Sleeps
Monday, June 30, 2008 @ A Boy In The Big City Part 2
This entry came in miserably late. Sorry folks.

Sat 14th Jun
Alen and i had breakfast at McDonald's Bukit Bintang. As it was located at the prime location of BB, we decided to have breakfast at second level, which gives us a good view of the cross junction of Bukit Bintage. See that? That was the picture taken from the front seat of McD's.
We had a walk around, and decided to take a rest at the homestay. By the time we had finish breakfast and rest, it was 12+pm. And Alen has to meet his family who was in Genting Highlands. So we had a quick lunch before he says ciao! to me.
What follows later was a shopping trip to Mid Valley Megamall for myself. Not much changes after missing Mid Valley for 2 years. But at least....i caught a glimpse of KOOKAI in KL! Don't think there is a KOOKAI outlet in S'pore. So immediately i had a snap snap of it.
And right behind Mid Valley was The Gardens, a new extension of Mid Valley Megamall, where The Gardens specialised in high end fashion and luxury goods. Even the cineplex located at the Gardens are different from your normal cineplex. Named GSC Signature, it houses 5 Premier Class Halls and 2 Gold Class Halls. Just in case you wonder what is Premier Class, it is somekind of poor man's GoldClass, with 2 large twin seats paired together instead of 2 couches. And that explains why it is more popular with more people, as having more Premier Class halls means allowing more choices of films and better facilities. (Note: Screens at Premier Class can be much more bigger than your normal Gold Class halls, due to the difference of seating capacity. C'mon la, each seat at Premier Class cost RM20 on weekend, compared to RM60 for Gold Class. But definitely that is much more cheaper than GV Gold Class at S$30/ tix on wkends.)And this is the inner view of The Gardens....
Not much to see though, after so much big hoo haa about The Gardens...in fact, the crowd seems to be little too...
Before leaving KL Sentral and going back to BB, i took a picture of the KL Sentral station. FYI, a train is needed to bring you to Mid Valley from KL Sentral after taking the monorail from BB. And there are shuttle buses that brings you to KLIA from KL Sentral station.

Pretty big, with signages in Eng, Bahasa Melayu and Japanese. (Odd, why no Mandarin?)

Had a shower back at the homestay and decided to visit Sungai Wang Plaza and Berjaya Times Sq. Nothing much to see and say though. Kinda disappointing to see that it is still about the same when i was there in 2005. So decided not to take pictures...

Return back to homestay ard 11pm and decided to hit the sack...

It's been ages since i last visited KL (that should be somewhere around May 2006 before i'm enlisted) and seeing from newspapers and online articles that KL is a shopping paradise. Thus i decided to take a trip down to KL, for shopping, and to visit a very close friend of mine, Alen.
130608 Fri
The bus arrives at Puduraya at 5pm, 2 hours later than the scheduled arrival timing. The first thing i did was to get a return ticket to Singapore on Monday. While the service provided by the Gunung Raya was extremely horrible (that they dump all passengers at Kota Raya Shopping Centre.) i told myself i must get a VIP coach when returning back to S'pore. By the time i check into the homestay it was 5.30pm. Alen drop me an SMS, telling me that he will be arriving shortly.
And approximately around 6.20pm, my beloved Alen has arrived! The first thing to settled: Dinner. And so he brought me to Ichiban Boshi, located at Pavilion KL, which was a stone's throw away from our guesthouse.

And this is Alen aka the Mr Kind Tourguide, where we had sushi on conveyer belt and Tori Katsu Don for dinner. We ate till...we stuff ourself half dead with rice.

After dinner, its a short little tour of Pavilion KL, and this is the answer to KL's version of Paragon in Singapore! Right beside Pavilion is Louis Vuitton. That happens to gave me a chance to re-enact the opening scene of Sex and the City Movie, where Sarah Jessica Parker was sashaying down the streets of NYC, right outside LV, with her in the white big flower dress.

The trip ends with touring the streets of Bukit Bintang, where one can just simply relaxs at a cafe, opening their eyes and welcoming everything to them. The street scenes, lifestyles, cars...

To Be Continued...

Yes yes yes i heard people saying that i am getting my IC back. Well to all those who are still serving their duties to the nation, your turn will come sooner or later. If you keep having the happy/nasty/jealous/(fill in yourself) feeling that why your peers are getting their IC earlier than you, my word to you is: They surrendered their IC earlier than you, and they gave up their civilian life earlier than you. It's just a matter of time before you get back to the full-time civilian life.
OK, so when i saw the following poster being put up in cinemas, i know my day is coming. And here it comes:

Yes, the 4 Golden Girls are back and more fabulous! After Carrie meeting her Mr Big in Paris in 2004, they decided to continue their life and sex back to New York City. Together with Samantha and her celebrity boyfriend Smith cohabiting, with Charlotte happily married to Harry and their Chinese adopted daughter Lily, and Miranda living with Steve and their son Brady in Brooklyn, the 4 BFFs (Best Friends Forever) decided to hit back to NYC to continue their life.

And this is what i get before catching the movie in cinema twice:

I got the OST which comes with a free notebook, the novel + L'Officiel the French fashion magazine which throws in 2 movie pass to SATC, luggage tag and COVET by Sarah Jessica Parker. And not forgetting the number of SATC DVDs that i had, together with the numerous numbers of episode that i've not watched.

After watching SATC at GV Grand and Cathay Cine Orchard, i draw up a conclusion: SATC is a must for fans. If you wanted some chick flick with brains and values, this is the show for you. Why? I'm not going to say it here. See it for yourself. :)
